I happened upon the East Boothbay General Store this week and found myself wanting to snap up so many of the decorative elements owner Elizabeth Evans has gathered under one roof. Knobby throw pillows, seaside-inspired ceramics, hammered metal accents, curvy lamps made from the thick rope that calls dockside living to mind, and some of the best crafts from Maine only scratch the surface of her wares. If you happen to be in the mid-coastal region of the state, make it a destination stop, as the pizza and sweets will make you want to kick back for a bit before continuing along on this spiky coastline where water views are around nearly every corner! I highly recommend that you like the general store on Facebook to stay current with what’s doing, such as a call to action for one of their vendors who is currently in dire need of license plates to make his adorable dust pans. He’s an eighty-year-old gentleman from Old Towne and he’s run out of sources for them. You can see them to the far right in the photo above. Don’t you think he should be able to continue his art?
If you’re planning to create or freshen up a coastal cottage, she has some excellent finds here. Her throw pillows alone are enough to add luminous dashes of color to any room.
